LA ENTONACIÓN ENUNCIATIVA / DECLARATIVE INTONATION
Intonation in Spanish is uniform; that is, there are not as many changes in tone as in other languages.
In declarative sentences the tone:
- Rises from the beginning of the phrase to an accented syllable.
- From there it falls toward the end of the phrase.

LA ENTONACIÓN INTERROGATIVA / INTERROGATIVE INTONATION
The interrogative is indicated in writing by adding the marks ¿ (before) and ? (after).
Questions requiring a sí/no have a rising intonation at the end after the final accented syllable.

LA ENTONACIÓN EXCLAMATIVA / EXCLAMATION INTONATION
Exclamatory phrases are indicated in writing by adding the marks ¡ (before) and ! (after)
The intonation of exclamatory phrases generally descends after the last accented syllable.
