LOS SONIDOS [r], [ɾ] Y [l] / THE [r], [ɾ] y [l] SOUNDS
To pronounce the strong [r] sound, the tongue flutters or rolls various times.
It comes:
-
At the beginning of a word:
rubio
-
In the middle of a word, with the letters –rr-:
perro.
-
After: n/s/l:
Israel, sonrisa, alrededor.
To pronounce the soft [ɾ] sound, the tongue only vibrates once.
It’s used in all other cases: caro, hora.

Pronounce the [ɾ] sound clearly; don’t confuse it with [l]:
- cala ~ cara
- rosa ~ losa
For the soft [ɾ], the the tongue only vibrates once.
For the [l] sound, the tongue does not roll or vibrate.
